Fashion Industry Holds Talks on Ultra-Thin Models

In September the Madrid fashion industry banned ultra-thin models from the runways. Now the French, Italian, British, and American fashion federations have held talks about the issue of too-skinny models.

They have decided not to regulate models' weight but to try to educate young models and keep an eye out for girls who may be heading for trouble.

"All actors concerned must get involved in the matter of information," France's fashion federation said on Thursday, adding delegates from Italy's, Britain's and America's fashion bodies had discussed the issue jointly at talks on Wednesday.
